Zyggy is so handsome!  And your cats are stunning!  I would love to have a Bengal but we have two kitties and my husband is at his limit.   Big Grin

Thanks everyone.. It has been a learning experience for us both. Not only because he is a different type of dog than I am used to but we are using the positive training techniques which means no choke collars which was so popular many years ago. I also had all female dogs before and he is a lot more goofy.

I'm trying to expose him to as many different things as I can to hopefully end up with a confident well rounded dog. I do the same things with my cats... Bring them on short car rides on the leash to sit out on a patio for ice cream or bring them to the pet store. Makes it easier to handle them and they really enjoy it too.. Just have to get them started young.

The last ice cream run my cat akira and zyggy came and I went inside for a second... Came out and both were both buddied up hanging out like they owned the world.

Update! Zyggy is doing good with his leash reactive training Smile He only barked once while in his crate and none the rest of class even though other dogs were barking in a different class next to us. Also we worked across from another small dog he had never met before and he had no reactions, glanced maybe twice and then focused on working with me without issue. On the way out a dog being naughty or reactive himself started barking at Zyggy a few feet away and Zyggy managed to keep his cool although I could tell he was less relaxed leaving the building, but no lunging or barking.

We have been working on this since I posted and making really good progress! I am doing the "omg a dog barked, omg I got treats! yay!" approach.

That is wonderful! It sounds like you are making great progress. Keep celebrating every tiny accomplishment. One mistake I made with Mattie (who is more fearful then reactive) is not noticing every tiny step. It took my oldest daughter (who lives away from us and only visits once a year or so) to point out the incredible progress I had made with Mattie for me to really see that we had made progress. I was in the middle of it and couldn't see the small steps.

Post some new photos, I bet he is super handsome!

Photos please! For sure! Progress is so fun! TMM is right, when you are in the middle it's hard to see sometimes. Celebrate what you can see!
