When Marley gets to an age where he is thinking, they will probably be best buds. My almost 12 JRT has recently decided that Gideon(2 1/2) is now old enough to play with.
Gotta love 'em.

That would be great to see, he's slowly coming round. He managed to walk away from marley when marley was trying to jump at him so zak got a big praise!
Today has also been a bit better with the crate, we've been feeding marley in it and he's been happily going in and out of it today YaySmile

Hi, im really concerned about my older dog zak with the puppy. Zak has become extremely nervous around marley and is growling more even when the pup just walks past. Is there anything I can do for zak as i don't like seeing him like this Sad we've even discussed selling the pup but it would be upsetting. Could someone help us with zak or is he going to always be like this? Thank you all again for your help.
One thing i meant to say is suzie my last dog bullied zak a lot could this be why he's like this.

Enroll them both in an obedience class and work them both together, you with one and your husband with the other. Start teaching the pup to settle in the house. Praise Zac for not reacting to Marley. Work on having Zac doing a watch me while Marley is moving around.
Gotta love 'em.

Well I turned around tonight and saw zak jump up on my sofa and guess what he cuddled into marley! We're over the moon, and had to take a picture they looked so sweet together Smile[Image: yze3e5u7.jpg][Image: ja2a7y3a.jpg]

Awwww so cute!

Gregor had bad separation anxiety as a puppy, what I did was start feeding him in the crate so he associated it with something good then I started putting him in every time I went to the bathroom and gave him lots of attention when I returned. Then gradually worked up to longer times in the crate without blanket or anything in there that he could rip to shreds.
In the morning when I left for work I would make she he had a good walk, and fed him right when I left for work in the crate, and gave him a kong with lots of frozen peanut butter in it....I also didn't say good-bye or indicate I was going out. Make leaving as neutral as possible.

Thank you Smile
We've been feeding marley his meals in his crate and are going to use a Kong. We've only been leaving him for short periods as the noise he makes is unbelievable for a little boy and the poor soul gets himself into an awful state. I think I'll actually try just going into a different room and build it up.
