Found a BC today!

Well I'm visiting my mom and I was sitting on the couch, my mom in the main room at the front of the house, she says, "James, Niko is out front." I instantly look in the backyard and I can see him lying there, so I go out front and see a BEAUTIFUL tri coloured Border Collie, he wouldn't come to me so I ran inside and got some treats, with a little hesitation and sniffing he came over and we spent about an hour together, I walked around this small town asking if anyone knew who the dog belonged to. Of course nobody knew... My mom told me to just leave him and he will go home, so I let him loose off the leash, as much as I didn't want to, I really didn't want to see him be running around the streets.
About a half an hour went by and I looked outside and wouldn't you know it the dog was just laying on the front lawn! I found a number for animal control, I don't like to call them because they usually end up in a kennel but it had to be done, he came and as soon as he saw the dog he knew who it belonged to and took him home.

Honestly, I wanted to just keep him! He was so friendly, and wouldn't leave me alone! But he had his license on his collar and I knew someone was going to be looking for him!

So glad the story had a good ending and you got to make a new friend. I love the tricolors too.

He came back a few days later, there was a huge thunder storm here and I'm gonna assume he took off because of the lightning, he came right to our house and laid by the door, I had to take him for a stroll and he ran right to the house he belonged at, I think anyways, I don't know where he lives lol.... I guess that's what happens when you give a lonely dog treats, he keeps coming back! lol

Does make me wonder if he does that all the time, at least now 2 times to you, where are his owners? We live in the country here but still people keep their dogs from running onto other people's properties and out of the roads (well for the most part, there are always a few). If I were his owner I would be worried with him running the streets of getting killed. Or is it a very small town with not much traffic? Still I would not want him disappearing like that. He will probably keep coming to your moms now LOL.

It's a very very small town, about 1500 people... There is very little traffic, but there is a highway going through the middle of town, the speed limit is 50 km/h though... And yeah I'd be worried if I noticed Niko was gone, I've seen 3 other dogs just walking around, one just lays in his drive way most days when I walk by. Another yard boarding the recreation center has no fence so their dog just roams. And I wouldn't mind if he kept coming back to hangout with me! He's very obedient, and reminds me of Niko when he flops over for me to rub his belly! lol
