Training Discs part 1

Just a word of warning with Kairo and cats. I have known at least 5 Huskies that ended up being cat killers, and I haven't known that many Huskies. They were bred with ridiculously strong prey drive and next to no inhibition.
Gotta love 'em.

Yea GM I thought of that. Kairo was raised in a multi-cat household, so she is used to them. She DOES treat them like toys and traps them under things like beds and couches, but she's never actively hurt one. The one thing that concerned me is that she tried to take Anya out of my arms one time and one time only. She didn't even bite down hard, but definitely had her mouth around my cat and was trying to pull her away.

DJ has had both Kairo and Sly together for over 2 years.

I may try this. We will see. She is such a hugely stubborn dog!

I agree with you GM, my experience with huskies is very high prey drive.

I just purchased these discs online. I thought it best to try and find the authentic product rather than improvise because I don't really know what sound I am aiming for and I want to start with my best foot forward. I found 3 sellers, 2 in UK and one in US. One of the UK sites and the US site was crazy expensive for shipping but the second UK site was fine. GBP 11.49 (AU$19.66) including shipping. I mean it's probably a lot of money for what they are but I think money well spent.

They are coming via snail mail which usually takes 2-3 weeks from UK or US but that is better than the slow boat from China which can take anything from 6 -10 weeks. This will give me time to think out my strategy as I think it is really important to approach this the correct way. It's going to be a little different to training out some other behaviours. Quirky's idea of setting him up for failure ( initially making the rocks enticing) is my direction.

Let me know how it goes.
Also I would practice the training in and the use on rocks without the dog first. I tend to over think things, so it is not very fluent in the execution
So I do practice first without the dog, lol
