Puppies arrived on Tuesday and mum obliged by starting at 7am and finishing finishing at 4.30pm. No overnight vigil whew ! There are 10 pups in the litter,  4 chocolate (RED technically) and 6 Lilac. The breeder was surprised at the number of Lilacs as he expected no more than 2 (3 at a stretch) from an average litter of 8.
These 2 are the only females. In an ideal world I would like to wait until their little characters develop before I choose a pup but I will not be able to do that. I do have 1st choice  and might get a few weeks before the pressure is on the breeder to tell others which pups are available.

One of the photo's is pretty bad, the pup really isn't green LOL

Haha, I will, I will !!!! I didn't get any good photo's during the whelping, these were sent to me the following morning. As soon as I go back for a visit I will spam you all with photo's of them all.
Sadly, a little boy passed through last night. Wade (breeder) sat up with him most of the night, cradling him and keeping him warm but it just wasn't to be. He is supplement feeding a couple of the pups to help mum out. He stays pretty close for the first few days and keeps an eye on who is getting the prime feeding options.

Unfortunately, with a litter that large it isn't unusual to lose one.
Gotta love 'em.

Prayers needed for my little girl "Lily", in my mind I had chosen the girl on the brown towel. Her sister and another male pup sadly passed yesterday and my girl is struggling. The breeder has never had this happen in his 9 years as a breeder (losing pups so many days after birth). All the other pups are thriving. He is feeding her and keeping her warm himself around the clock. In tears, not just for my girl but also the dear little lives lost and Wade who invests so much emotionally in his babies. He was in tears when he rang this morning.
