Too Hot for Dogs.
#11
Our humidity is up over 90% all summer, usually near 100%. Even in winter, it's pretty high. That's why we only work for about 5 minutes. Trying to breathe rapidly in this humidity is like trying to breathe under water, and it doesn't cool you at all.
Gotta love 'em.

We don't have the extreme heat here but it still gets hot enough to kill dog if they are left in a car.... and people do leave them in cars or exercise when it's too hot. Ignorance!!!!

GM the climate in your area sounds very similar to ours. The humidity is the killer. Having a shower is a challenge in itself as before you can dry yourself you are dripping is sweat just from the effort. I have to stand in front of a fan to get dressed again or the cloths stick to my body LOL.

Owners of dogs with jobs keep them conditioned and are very mindful of the time of day and duration of their their tasks. It is the pet owners such as those at the market that do my head in. If you spoke to many of them they would claim that they treat their dogs like royalty yet they seem oblivious to basic common sense. Spoil them into obesity and then bring them out to stand on hot asphalt on a stinking hot day.

We don't have too big a problem with dogs being left in cars. There are many awareness campaigns on the subject and the general public is pretty switched on to it and intolerant of seeing it happen.

Gotta love 'em.
