Tammie, I'm so sorry you had to make the decision to re-home Bailey.  Just because something is the right decision doesn't mean it is an easy decision.

So, so true T & MM. I think it is fantastic that you Tammie have been able to rehome with a member of this forum. I seriously doubt you could find a more dedicated and knowledgeable group of BC owners. It crosses my mind from time to time that I wouldn't know what to do if I became ill and had to reheome my dogs. I just don't know anyone that I would entrust with my dogs except for some of the members of this forum but thats across the globe.

So, it looks like Bailey has a new name. Our JRT, Angel, has always had the nickname Bay, so we have been emphasizing the Ley part of Bailey. She is such a silly puppy cutie that my daughter started calling her Little Ley, which became Lil Ley, which became Lily. A couple days ago, she started responding to being called Lily, so we have all adopted it. Lily suits her.
Gotta love 'em.

Oh WOW, I absolutely LOVE that name and the way it came about is so very sweet. Lily was one of the names I suggested for our next pup but it didn't get unanimous support. In Australia she would likely often get the nickname Lilypilly after one of our popular native trees.

We are crazy about using nicknames. My son calls her the Usurper, because she is always stealing the other dogs' place, mainly by stealing the toy they are playing fetch with. Micah is the Cave Dragon, because he finds those small places to get into, then as you walk by he comes rushing out of his hidey hole. He's also El Chupacabra. Gideon is the Interrupting Cow. It's a bad knock knock joke. We have a million nicknames, sometimes they become the name.
Gotta love 'em.

Well, we found out tonight that Lily is scared to death of fireworks. She settled down a little bit on my bed with the other dogs, but she totally freaked out for a little while. I'll go see if I can get her a thundershirt tomorrow.
Gotta love 'em.

Oh, poor baby.  Tasha is the same and for the past few days I have been putting Rescue Remedy in her water.  I got her a thundershirt and put it on her today to get her used to wearing it.  The local fireworks display is not too far from my home and this year I am thinking of taking Tasha for a drive during the display to get her away from the noise.  Thankfully, I have considerate neighbors that will stop by 10pm so I know when it will be safe for me to bring Tasha home.

Obi is the only one who is bothered by fireworks. So far last night was the worst this year. I gave him 2 25mg Benedryl and put his thundershirt on him and he still wasn't having it. He went to his place in my closet and hunkered down for most of it.
We have 3 more nights and then the leftovers that will be done next weekend and the weekends after. I feel so bad for the ones who have this fear. I hope the shirt helps Lily.

The boys have always been mildly anxious about fireworks and thunderstorms.

We took Lily and fitted her for a Thundershirt on Sunday after church.  It worked so well that after the crazy was over for the evening, I tried it on Gideon and we did some of the things that usually set him off.  He stayed calm, so Monday morning we went and got Micah and Gideon their own Thundershirts.  They worked great last night, and this afternoon, the neighbor started shooting, so back on they went. and everyone settled down pretty well.  Man, I wish I'd done this sooner!!  They may have to live in them(not really).
Gotta love 'em.

Ohh, Gideon, she's absolutely GORGEOUSSSS!!!

That's so good of you to give her the Forever Home she deserves -- I know she'll be so, so happy with you and the boys!!
