Lily, our skinny new collie

She is very pretty and has my Ember's face as well. That expression is a common look in my house - I'm getting it right now, actually. Can't wait to hear more about her!

Hi and welcome. Personally I think she looks a really good weight, I prefer to see a Border Collie slightly on the skinnier side than overweight, they are a very active breed.

This is my fit, 2 year old, smooth coat Border Collie, she has just started competing at agility and flyball.

Petting Lily's back is like playing a xylophone - you can count her vertebrae from 10' away. I see now that the pics I posted don't show it, but she's thinner than your dog. I'm not going to make an effort to take pics to capture the signs of her past, so you'll have to just trust me on this. You have a very pretty dog. I've always been told that seeing ribs through fur is a little underweight (depending on the fur), but vertebrae and hips that jut out are well into the red.

I also like my dogs athletically lean, but I noticed in your picture how her hips were visibly sticking out. That's a lack of conditioning as well as weight. Getting exercise as well as regular food and stress reduction will have her right as rain in no time.
Gotta love 'em.

My girl is a year an half old. She weighs 33lbs. Hasn't put on any weight since about 9 months old give or take. I'd say she's full grown. Some people we run into say she's skinny. The vet last week said she looked perfect. Also very active.

Lily is very nice looking dog. Good luck and have fun with her.
