Time to Find the Family Jewels

Unfortunately he's perhaps more obsessed with the wounds. The groin incision (external stitches) is the one he can get to. He can get his whole leg in the cone, grazes his belly and licks at it. If he has pants only, he can get down the front, again folding himself like a contortionist to get to the abdominal incision even though the pants come right up high on his chest. Poor little guy has cone and pants. Then there is Max ! Because of this bloodied dressing he has far more interest in Jaspers belly than I would like, so the T-shirt help a lot with this as well. It's a bit nostalgic really when taking him out to the toilet, "c'mon mate take your pants down", "ok pants on, this leg, now this leg",  just like raising toddlers haha.
Aww, it's a lot of extra work for you but worth it in the end.  Rolleyes no pun intended.

If he has razor burn that could be one reason why he is licking so much. Coconut oil should help with that. Hoping for a speedy recovery.

I got a giggle out of that - I love hearing that other people have these conversations with their dogs too LOL! Poor fella.

If he is losing weight, you could try adding just a bit of coconut oil to his food. Increase it slowly so you don't upset his stomach.
Gotta love 'em.
Hopefully, this will all be a distant memory very soon. Poor boy! The boys are supposed to have it easy with this surgery and the girls have a more difficult time.
Wow, so glad they found it and got it out. That must be a huge weight off your mind. Hoping for a speedy recovery!
