Border Collie Coat Care
#11
This time of year is when they shed out their undercoat. That's what those clumps are. Get a slicker brush and use it every day. Dogs with renal issues do shed more than normal dogs and they may have coat condition issues too, but the clumps are undercoat.
Gotta love 'em.

We are clumping right now too. No sooner I get it brushed, an hour later she's leaving little bushes everywhere!

I have been brushing daily for the past 2 weeks. I haven't gotten ahead of it yet but I know I will. Then after I see they aren't dropping as much I will give them all a nice shower and start brushing again for a week or so.
Then we "might" be good to go back to brushing every other day for the winter.

I brush every other day year round except during the shedding months. I don't like all the hair on my floors. It's an OCD thing.  Blush
