I can't do "ages" but I can do a time span...

Even if it's not in "ages" you can still tell there is a huge difference between when you first got her and now. In your first pic you can see that she's terrified but in the last two pics she's WAY calmer, happy, and confident. Also, I don't know about you but I think she has a bit of a "puppy-ish" look to her in the first pic.

You can see the changes in her coat and head shape too. She has certainly hit the jackpot with you.

I love the progression. I think it's more of I hit the jackpot with her. And yes looking back she definitely has aged some, which makes me happier with saying she's almost 3yrs LOL! Her fur is longer and fluffier all around. I don't think I've loved an animal this hard in my life (my poor cat...).

I love how happy and relaxed Ember looks in that last photo.  I am so thankful for Mattie because she is a wonderful dog deserving a loving family but also because she has taught me so much.  I have learned to read dogs better because of Mattie.  A few months ago at an agility trial I was talking to the owner of a young Border Collie while a friend was holding her BC.  The friend said, "Here, pet him, he is friendly"  but the look on the dog's face clearly said, "I'm not comfortable, PLEASE, PLEASE, don't pet me."  The only reason I read this dog so well is because of all I have had to go through having a very fearful dog.  Mattie has trained me and I am thankful for that.
