Absolutely, sorry to hear about your mum. I lost mine at 12 years old. This might sound a bit weird and harsh at the moment, but please be sure to properly grieve her passing - I didn't and it has had bad repercussions later on in life. Some people do this naturally; I didn't and nobody showed me how - please just bear it in mind, OK?

As for the dogs, I absolutely concur with what everyone says above - you've thought it out well and are doing an admirable thing /wtg.

Now, for my sales pitch ... one essential need for my BC girl (everyone else's eyes roll upwards) ... BABBLE BALL!!! I really don't get any commission, but do yourself a favour and get them one (or two) of these. We have the large sized ones and they are just great!

BTW: Are you Welsh?

Im 24 and thought I would be calling my mum and visiting her for at least the next 40 years at least, the sadness it has caused is indescribable. Too of had to go through it at 12 I can only imagine was devastating i am sorry and thank you for the advice, I have had time in her house with the dogs to think and plan how I grieve except it and deal with work and life from now on, I have her 2 best friends Meg and Mollie now to help me along Smile

Oh and yes I am Welsh.

Ah well I have someone else to scoff about the rugby with, then? /yahoo

I lived my 1st 5 years on the right side of the border (but only just, born in Wrexham), but my wife's from Newport and lived most of her life there. So, don't you deserve a 'proper' welcome?

croeso i'r fforwm!!!

Late as usual...

I can only agree with the others, you have put so much thought and effort into making sure these girls stay with you that you'll succeed.

Also so sorry to hear about your mum, I lost my dad when I was 16 to that disease and it sucked. Even now 14 years later I think about him every single day. Dealing with it properly is the way to go, but easier said than done.

Welsh connections eh? I can boast those as well! To my friends disgust I support Wales in the Rugby! My Nan was Welsh, lived and grew up in Tregaron, we visited there a lot!

WOW, I wrote my original post around this time 5 years ago.

Just a random thought that I should give an update on what happened to this forum. I don't join forums often but I find sometimes people never get back or give feed back on what happened.

Well if you read my original post I was in a bit of a predicament with whether it was possible to find a home for myself and my mums (who had past away the month before) dogs Meg and Molly who were 2 and 1 years old.

Well its been 5 years, I got the house with agreement I could have the dogs if the place was kept tidy and any damage was paid for. Meg is now 7 and Molly 6.

They both live a very happy life, it was originally a bit of a challenge having to do a daily dog walk/run! but now its just routine, I'm so close to work I get to pop back and see them at lunch time, and we also get out first thing in the morning weather I am at work or its a day off.

Everything worked out, its taken up a lotto my life and been a massive responsibility but I wouldn't change it for the world Big Grin

Thanks for all the kind support from everyone at allboardercollies.com Smile

Rgds
